David Elmore, EA, CFP ©| LPL Financial Advisor

David Elmore opened Bookkeeping & Management Systems Inc. in 1987 to serve individuals and businesses in the areas of tax, accounting, estate planning and payroll services. Quickly, realizing the growing need for financial planning and advice, Financial Management Inc. (FMI) was formed in 1994.

David believes in independent, objective advice and chose LPL Financial as the firmís broker dealer. LPL Financial supports over 14,000 financial advisors across the country.

A lifelong learner, David received his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERô designation in February 2014. He is also a LPL Registered Principal, LPL Investment Advisor Representative, and he is an enrolled agent, earning the privilege to practice before the Internal Revenue Service. David holds his Bachelors of Science degree from Eastern Mennonite University.

David has served on several community boards including Big Brothers Big Sisters of Augusta County, DuPont Community Credit Union, New Life Ministries, and Waynesboro Foursquare Church. Presently he is a Governor for Opportunity International. David has a passion for foreign missions, and is a charter member of Mission of Hope Bolivia, a Christian based, medical clinic. David and his wife, Joy, have three children: Joshua, Joel and Angelena.

Marlana Lancaster | LPL Financial Advisor

Born and raised in Augusta County, Marlana joined FMI in May 2006. She is a graduate of Eastern Mennonite University with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, with minors in Economics and Missions.

Prior to working in the financial industry, her background includes logistical planning and client relations. She also enjoyed working at a non-profit economic development firm based in Washington DC that provided micro-loans to persons in third world countries. She has gone on and led several mission trips to New Mexico, New York, Nicaragua, and Costa Rica. Her time at EMU helped give her a global perspective in all areas of her life.

Once an avid volleyball and softball player, she now enjoys watching sports with her husband, Ben. They enjoy traveling each year to watch the O's and Wizards, and are lifelong Redskins fans. Marlana joined her local CrossFit (SAW) gym in 2016. Ben and Marlana enjoy cooking, hosting, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. She and her husband, Ben, are members of and actively involved at Bridge Christian Church where they serve as Life Group leaders. Her favorite book of the Bible is 1 Timothy 4. They have two lab rescues, Parker and Gracie.

Her life goal is to make a positive impact on the lives of others. She has found that financial planning is a very practical way of making that difference.

Abby Pannell | Client Services Associate

Abby joined the FMI team in May 2016. She attended Eastern Mennonite University for two years, later transferring to Old Dominion University where she earned her Bachelor's degree in Psychology. Abby brings valuable experience from working for a national firm whose foundational commitment is to service - both to the clients and to the community. Once a corporate trainer and manager, she will draw from that perspective, commitment and personal touch to continue the high standards that FMI clients enjoy.

Abby grew up in Waynesboro, Virginia and graduated from Waynesboro High School. She has lived in the area her entire life and got married in April 2016. Abby and her husband, Henry, enjoy spending time with family and friends and traveling. Abby has a goal to do a cross country driving trip and to see all 50 states. Abby and her husband have an adorable Maine Coon cat named AJ.


Sharon Fessier | Client Services Associate

Sharon has over 35 years' experience in the banking and financial services field, including 9 years with Financial Management, Inc. She works closely with Advisors in a support capacity to provide not only the Advisors but also our clients with quality service.

Sharon was born and raised in New York, moved to California where she resided for many years; with her husband Dave, a native Californian, she moved to the East Coast 9 years ago. Sharon has several step- children and grandchildren. She has been involved with the Big Bros./Big Sisters program and enjoys time spent with her little sister. An avid animal lover, she is always trying to find homes for strays that find their way to her home.

Jay Ford | Operations Manager

Jay has been a part of the Financial Management team since November of 2012. He graduated from Indiana University with a major in Marketing and a minor in Psychology. He brings twenty-four years of business experience to Financial Management. This business experience includes personnel management, business administration and logistics. He values serving people in business and in the community.

Jay is an avid sports fan. He grew up in New Jersey where his entire family was heavily involved in sports. Jay participated in basketball, baseball and tennis. He has been married to his wife Denise for over twenty-four years. They have two children Lauren and Becca. He loves spending time with his family and friends.

James Mahoney, CPA | Insurance Specialist*

Jim brings over 45 years in the financial services industry, including careers as a Certified Public Accountant in New York City, an Adjunct Full Professor at St. John University, and a Chief Operating Officer of South Beach Psychiatric Center. He has been with Financial Management since 2005 and now specializes in all types of insurance.

Jim grew up in The Bronx, New York and received his bachelor degree at Manhattan College. He furthered his education by receiving his MBA at Wagner College in Staten Island. He and his wife moved to Virginia in 1990 to provide a better environment to raise their younger children. Jim has a genuine interest in serving people, which is represented by his remarkable involvement and contribution to his community. A few examples of his community service include Chairman of both the Valley Community Services Board and Blue Ridge Community College Marketing Committee, President of the Waynesboro Rotary Club, President of Kate Collins Middle School PTO, Board Member of Valley Pastoral Counseling Center, founder of local Business Networking International Chapter, and Big Brother with honors over a ten-year period.
